City of Oceanside Bicycle Master Plan
Oceanside Named a Bicycle Friendly Community
As a result of a comprehensive update of the City of Oceanside's bicycle master plan by KTU+A, the City received designation in 2008 as a bicycle friendly community by the League of American Bicyclists.
The bicycle master plan recommends routes that link City destinations, such as the transit center, beaches, schools, parks and downtown. A safe and accessible bicycle transportation plan provides an alternative to automobile travel, addresses the needs of local cyclists, promotes regional long-distance cycling trips, and encourages tourism.
