Senior Designer (3-7 Yrs)

KTUA is in search of an inspired, creative, and motivated individual with a passion for community-based design and healthy placemaking. This position requires demonstrated proficiency in spatial design and AutoCAD effective project management, management of multi-disciplinary design teams and in-house support staff, client communication skills, public speaking and community outreach, and business development, project pursuits, and presentations for projects and interviews. Projects are typically located throughout Southern and Central California.

The ideal candidate is a licensed landscape architect with 3 to 7 years of experience including creative conceptual design thinking and problem solving, whole project management, and exceptional graphic and communication skills. Candidates must have a diverse portfolio of work in a variety of market areas including parks, civic, commercial, education, and hospitality design.Additional responsibilities include conceptual design development, construction document and technical specifications preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or urban planning/design.
  • Licensed or currently working toward licensure
  • Three to seven years of experience in private consulting or public agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong report writing, research, and presentation skills a plus.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and coordinate with other staff.
  • Motivated self-starter able to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD is required and Microstation is a plus.
  • Experience with SketchUP, Lumion or other 3D modeling, and visual simulations are a plus.
  • Favorable background check and ability to travel.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA (Citizenship or current VISA/Green Card).

GIS Analyst / Planner

KTUA is looking for an inspired, creative, and motivated individual with a passion using GIS to support community-based planning and design working closely with our project managers and senior staff. Projects are typically located throughout southern and central California. This position will assist with map and model development, data creation, analysis, and ArcGIS Online support as well as general planning support such as report writing and community outreach. Projects will primarily support parks, trails, and active transportation plans. The position will be based in our San Diego office.

  • Between 2-3 years of GIS experience in private consultancy or public agency.
  • Required experience includes ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with ArcPro and Modelbuilder is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Preferred experience includes SketchUp.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong report writing, research, and presentation skills required.
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects and tasks daily.
  • Motivated self-starter able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Favorable background check and ability to travel.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA (Citizenship or current VISA/Green Card).
