World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims

KTUA is proud to have collaborated with Circulate San Diego on an interactive memorial for the World Day of Remembrance 2017. The memorial, located on Pride Plaza at the intersection of University Avenue and Normal street, was made of bicyclists and pedestrian figures that were adorned to commemorate lost lives. Anyone was welcome to share memories and write down ideas for making streets safe for all.

Colin Parent, Interim Executive Director, Circulate San Diego; Uniformed representatives San Diego Police Department; and Pat Olafson and Esperanza Torres-Gies, Center for the Blind spoke to a crowd of people at the event. They discussed the need for safe streets in our communities and shared moving personal stories and accident statistics.
